Opening up this year’s BAAMFest will be 2 brothers from Newquay with a unique sound and fantastic energy.
We are proud to present Echo Town. Ric and Robert Harrison achieve a full band sound with just two pairs of hands. Transplanted from Yorkshire to Cornwall their fanbase is divided between the two places and wherever they’ve played along route between the two locations. Instantly recognisable for their multi-instrumental performances and eclectic sound they mix the culture of the surf soaked South West with contemporary freedom songs.
A live performance sees the brothers adeptly using guitar, lap-slide, stomp box, harmonica, didgeridoo and percussion with soul full singing and harmonies all full of energy.
In 2015 they released their third and most successful album to date, which propelled them onto a year of tours including shows at Oceanfest, Green Gathering and Looe Music Fest
Land of the Giants
We couldn’t be more excited about our Friday night headliner. These guys are going to rock the tent.
Meet Land of the Giants. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you’re in for a treat. Formed in October 2009 with lofty aspirations, Land of the Giants have been busy pounding dance floors with their raucous, feel-good, highly-addictive shows. With ideas too big to be pigeon-holed, the Giants fuse many a musical style and are quite frankly genre-defying.
Expect inspired songwriting with a heavy dancefloor sensibility. Pumping drum and bass licks, scorching guitar, soulful yet commanding vocals and a jumpin’ brass section.
One of the hardest working bands around with festival appearances at Glastonbury, Bestival, Boomtown and Wilderness under their belts, they are hailed as one of the best emerging live bands in the country. There truly is no one out there making music the way these boys do, with extraordinary passion and a cheerful swagger that has them tipped by many to be THE ones to watch in 2016.
“A phenomenal Live Performance” – BBC Introducing
Martin Harley Band
Martin Harley is a supremely talented acoustic roots and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter with a burgeoning global reputation.
Renowned for his prowess as a slide guitarist, Martin is almost unique in the UK in his playing lap slide. During year-round worldwide touring he’s absorbed a plethora of diverse influences, honing his craft into the classic songwriting style he possesses today.
In the US, Martin has headlined Music City Roots in Nashville and toured coast to coast with ZZ Ward, Delta Rae and opened for Iron and Wine, Bruce Hornsby, Five for Fighting, World Party, Beth Hart, Joe Bonamassa amongst many others.
Martin has spent much of the last 12 months touring solo and more recently with collaborator Daniel Kimbro. He is just back from playing sold out venues across Germany and later this summer embarks upon a North American tour.
However, for this very special event, Martin and his band have reformed to give us the chance to see them put on an amazing show that will likely be the only chance you’ll get this year to see them together on stage. We cannot wait for this!!
